Sincere & Co. was located in Canton & Hong Kong (as well as Shanghai and Peking), both were ports/cities which flourished from the China export trade.

Maker Information:
Sincere was a large trading company with locations in Canton, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Peking. Sincere and Co. was almost certainly a retailer, who sold the works of smaller workshops, and not a maker. The mark of Sincere has been observed in both Latin and Chinese characters.

Marks:
The mark of Sincere has been observed invarious different forms. It is known to exist in the following forms:

 SINCERE   SINCERE and shop mark 
 characters reading "Shih Hsien", SINCERE and shop mark   characters reading "Shih Hsien" (sincere), 85, and shop mark 

Known workshop/artisan marks:
Sincere was known to employ different workshops/ shop marks. Known workshops/ shop marks are as follows:

  P'ei, Pei, or P'ooi    Shang

Form: 3 piece tea set in the "Shanghai style" with repousse dragon decoration, bamboo design handles and gold gilt interior. Very heavy and sturdy.
Dimensions: Teapot-9.5 inches wide 5 inches tall, Sugar- 6.5 inches wide by 4 inches tall, Creamer-5 inches wide 3 inches tall
