Sunshing was an early silversmith working in Canton and using the mark of SS alone or with pseudo-British hallmarks. His mark has only been observed once with Chinese characters (see Marlowe pg 66) Sunshing worked only in the Western style and taste. No items have been observed in Chinese taste and form.
Note: This maker is not to be confused with Sun Shing of Canton and Hong Kong who used the same two letters S and S but included a period between them and who worked in Chinese taste and style. Marks:
