Linchong was located in Canton, a flourishing port/city in South China. Prior to the Treaty of Nanking (1842), export trade was confined to the port of Canton.

Linchong was an early maker who worked primarily in the Georgian style.

Marks:
The mark of Linchong has been observed invarious different forms. It is known to exist in the following forms:

  L, pseudo British hallmarks     L (looks like mis-shapen C) and pseudo British hallmarks  

Known workshop/artisan marks:
Linchong is thought to be the workshop and the retailer
