Hone Wo was located in Hong Kong, an island/port in South China which was ceded to the British in the Treaty of Nanking (1842) and became a British colony.

Maker Information:
Not much is known about Hone Wo other than he worked in Hong Kong in the late 19th century and most of his observed pieces are in Chinese taste and design.

The mark of Hone Wo is known to exist in the following forms:

 HW and shop mark   HW, 90, and shop mark

Hone Wo was known to employ different workshops/ shop marks. These workshops/ shop marks are as follows:

 Lo Chi, Luo Ji, or Lok Kei   T’ien, Tian, or Tim
