This lesser known silversmith was probably located in Canton, a flourishing port/city in South China. Prior to the Treaty of Nanking (1842), export trade was confined to the port of Canton.

Not much is known about this rare maker. Chuan was probably a working shop but is in the Maker Chart because his mark has been observed standing alone on a piece. The same character has been observed with the mark of Khecheong (KHC).
