This silversmith was located in Canton, a flourishing port/city in South China. Prior to the Treaty of Nanking (1842), export trade was confined to the port of Canton.

Maker Information:
C was a very early maker who used pseudo English hallmarks with the letter C. He is thought to have worked out of Canton and the only pieces observed with this mark are of English style. There are no known existing examples of this maker with Chinese designs or in Chinese tastes.
