Sincere and Wing On
Was browsing the web to view old pics of Chinese cities in the early 20thC and came across this most interesting site about Shanghai, peppered with wonderful pics of old Shanghai. There was this bit that caught my attention :
"During its 1930‘s and 1940‘s heyday, Nanking Road housed the Shanghai‘s four main department stores -~ Wing On Co., Sun Sun Co., Sincere Co., and Da Sun Co." ...... you can read more at www.rickshaw.org/way_we_remember_it.htm

Tuck Chang and Zee Wo
More about old Shanghai.... Interesting site (its actually a book I think) with narratives on many aspects of Shanghai in the old days. There is even an old telephone directory (from the early 30's I think) listing the companies that existed back then.  Zee Wo & Company and Tuck Chang & Company were among the few that were listed under Jewellers & Silversmiths...... you can read more at www.talesofoldchina.com/library/allaboutshanghai/t-all20.htm
